Winner, winner…Lori Meehan!!!
Hi all,
Thank you all so much for participating in the author giveaways these past several months. It has been a lot of fun to feature my friends’ books on my blog & introduce all of you to their books.
November is a really busy month for me. I’m doing copy edits for WHAT A WICKED EARL WANTS coming in May 2013! Copy edits are done by a copy editor who catches all the little mistakes I’m liable to gloss over because by now I’ve practically memorized the book LOL.
FYI: The contest ends Friday, Nov. 9th – US & Canada only!
I know May seems like a long time, but I hope you’ll be patient as the production process takes time. I’ve seen the cover – it’s Gorgeous! I’ll share as soon as I get the green light. I’m so lucky because the art department at Forever Romance does the best covers ever!
In December, I’ll be sending out a newsletter. I have plans to add some new features to my website for writers and readers. I hope to launch that sometime after the holidays, so definitely stay tuned. If you have suggestions, please email me. I LOVE to hear from readers. Email: vicky@vickydreiling.com
FYI: If you’re a member of Orange County RWA, I’m doing all-day workshops in December at that chapter.
Many prayers to those of you affected by the storm Sandy. Please be safe and let me know that you’re doing OK. I’ve been through 3 hurricanes & it’s no fun. My hope is that all of you are warm, safe, and get back your electricity soon. Hugs to all of you!
And because I can’t resist One Last Giveway, be sure to leave a comment for a chance to win signed copies of my first trilogy: HOW TO MARRY A DUKE, HOW TO SEDUCE A SCOUNDREL, and HOW TO RAVISH A RAKE.

have fun editing (if that’s possible)
Donna, these are copy edits so it’s mostly just small errors as opposed to content editing, which I finished much earlier this month.
I guess you have your work cut out for you. All is well here in CT, got power back last night although there are still many near the coast that still have a lot of cleaning up to do. I have not read your trilogy so I would love to win, thanks so much for all your hard work!!!
Good luck in the contest, Linda. Glad to hear your power is on. We went for days without electricity during Hurricane Ike in August – it was hot & miserable, but we were lucky to have only minimal damage.
You’ve got such lovely covers. I’m in southwest PA so we were really lucky with just lots of rain, some wind, a bit of flooding and hardly any of the snow that is surrounding our area. Hope everyone stayed safe! Thanks for another chance at winning your books!!
Thanks, Catslady. I hope the flooding wasn’t too bad. Hopefully, this is the end of storms for a while!
I agree – Forever Romance does an amazing job – your covers are gorgeous!
Although in NY, I’m far enough north (but not too close to Lake Ontario) to have escaped unscathed from most of Sandy’s wrath. We just had to suffer through some rain and wind.
Thanks for the chance to win your books!!
Nicky, I’m glad you didn’t have to worry about flooding – that’s always the scary part of storms.
Good luck on your busy months! I can’t wait to see the end results.
Karin, writing is hard work, but it’s also a lot of fun.
Happy Halloween! I’m here waiting for the onslaught of Trick-or-Treaters. It would be nice if I got a treat tonight!
Catherine, I hope you got a treat. There’s entirely too much candy leftover here! It’s calling my name – yikes!
Thanks for the giveaway!
Thanks, May. Good luck in the contest!
Ditto on the fun covers. Happy editing!
I haven’t gotten the copy edits yet – they should come soon, but they might be a bit late w/the storm in NY. Ah, well, I’m working on the 2nd book in the series, so I’ve got plenty to do!
Would love to win these. I love the covers!!
Good luck in the contest, Cindy!
Happy Halloween, Vicky!! And thank you for the giveaway!
Kitt,
It was kind of a slow Halloween around here. Hope you had fun.
Vicky, have fun.
Hi, Ella,
I’m writing the partial for the next book while I wait for the CEs. So the partial is 3 chapters + a synopsis. My editor checks it out and gives me feedback on the synopsis. And then I keep writing until I reach THE END.
Love your covers, and would love to read these. The trick or treaters, have already been knocking on my door.
Thank you for the giveaway.
Did you have any leftover candy, Diane? There is a ton here – and it’s all good stuff. Uh-oh LOL.
Hello Vicky! Love the books and the covers. I currently have these in ePub format. Would love to have paper copy for my shelf. Hope you are having a great day.
Good luck in the contest, Andrea! Thanks about the covers. Interestingly, the pose of the hero and heroine on the cover for my first book HOW TO MARRY A DUKE is one that I suggested to my publisher. I was thrilled they used one of my ideas. Now they just send me the covers, and I always email my editor & agent to say I love them.
I’m very lucky.
Your covers are beautiful.
Happy editing.
I hope you have a lovely holiday season.
Thank you or the wonderful giveaway.
Lori,
I hope your holiday season is great, too. Best of luck in the contest!
Thanks for the giveaway.
You’re welcome bn100 – good luck in the contest!
Happy copy edits! That means you’re in the home stretch. Copy edits have always been my favorite round of edits. I dislike hashing issues and am just thrilled to nit pick like a school teacher with a red pen
I’m looking forward to the next book.
KellyLM, Copy edits are very much detail work. I’m more of a big picture person (like a CEO). But I appreciate that this is the chance to fix all the little mistakes.
Wishing everyone a safe and warm week! I hope November is a productive month. Thank you for the chance to win your books.
Thank you, Na and same to you!
Thank you for sharing your amazing talent with us! I have been a fan since your first book debut and can’t wait for the next one!!!
Thank you, Brandy!!! Ya’ll have a great weekend!
Hi, I hope you have a great time editing… I loved your books but I have to admit my sister loves them even more. If I win, I will give the signed set to my sister. I know it would make her Christmas. Thanks for the giveaway…
I look forward to checking out your new book in the spring! Thanks for the giveaway.
My county’s library system doesn’t have 2/3 of the books you have offered to win. That should be a crime! Sadly, I haven’t been able to afford new books for awhile, so I depend solely on my library for new smut. I’d so appreciate winning! I would treasure them always, and would place them with honor on my romance bookshelf, where only my favorites live.
I know that you’ll pull a name at random, but I just HAD TO TRY to win some influence. LOL
Quinn,
You say that you would treasure my books, but you called them “smut.” You may have meant that as a joke, but I found it insulting. I assure you that I and other romance authors work very hard to write books that other readers tell us they really enjoyed. The winners are selected in a random drawing, but frankly, I really don’t feel you would appreciate my books, since you’ve labeled them as smut. As such, I’m removing you from the drawing.
P.S. If you don’t respect romance books and the authors who write them, then perhaps you should be reading something different.
You keep working hard on that next book. Us readers appreciate it (the hard work) and them (the books).
Your books are so much fun to read, Vicky. We all truly appreciate all the hard work you (and all authors) do to write excellent books for all us readers. Thanks for writing such wonderful books.
Love your books and looking forward to more! Thanks for sharing. Happy Holidays!
Hey, Vicky! Have you been “released” from your hotel prison? I hope so because that means you’ve hopefully caught up and have another “baby” for your readers.
Vicky, I would LOVE, LOVE, LOVE to win these fabulous books! Sigh…crossing my fingers big time!!
I agree that you stop seeing the little errors after a while when it’s your own work. I always send my papers to my mom to edit for me. She has been watching over my school papers for almost 40 years now. I’m good at math but the joys of language arts for writing just don’t get along with me. Would love to have signed copies of your books to add to my library.
Best wishes on your edits!! I would so love to win these books!!
Good luck, Betty. I’m editing away!
I love love love signed books and I so want to read these!!!!
Good luck, Josie!
Would love to win these books for my Aunt. She loves this genre and so do I. Thank you for the chance.
Thanks, Terry!
Hey, thanks for the chance to win your books. Just wish I could see you at one of your events. Unfortunately living in Southern Kentucky kind of limits that idea. Have fun doing your edits.
Good luck!
Would love to win the books!!
Best of luck in the contest, Geraldine!
Good luck with you edits Vicky, Can’t wait to read the end results! Much Love!
Bst wisjes with the edits and Thank You for the give away!!
After just finishing How to Marry a Duke, I went to my local library to check out How to Seduce a Scoundrel. They didn’t have it! Now, I am discouraged because I want to read the next book in your series (and more after seeing your website). Lo and Behold, you are having a contest to win ALL THREE BOOKS. To win would make my day. Thanks for a good read.
Have fun finishing the book. I can’t wait to see the cover. And hopefully I will see you in person at RT this spring. Fingers crossed.
Just got my power back after 10 days – yahoo! I always thought Sandy was such a nice name, but this one was very nasty! watching the news & catching up with went on in the world since I went dark. Missed all my Rockstar updates – have a lot of catching up to do. I have the first two books so would love the third – several of us could share!
What great giveaway! I already own all the books as you ate such an awesome writer!
Oh my goodness! It says the giveaway ends November 8th and I hope I haven’t missed commenting on it. I know how busy you have been, Vicky, and I think your idea of locking yourself away in a hotel room until you are finished writing and doing copy edits is a marvelous plan. How else can most of you lovely authors find the peace and quiet you need to get things done?
I have your novels on my Wish List and hope to get to read them soon!
All the best.
